Capacity building training held for Heads of PHCs and private HCFs
The Delta State Contributory Health Commission (DSCHC) held a capacity building training exercise for all Heads of Primary health centers (PHCs) and private Health Care facilities (HCFs) between the 22nd – 26th of May 2023.
The training cut across all PHCs and private HCFs in all 3 senatorial zones in Delta state.
The training kicked-off on Monday the 22nd, with the heads of PHCs in Delta south converging in Warri. Tuesday had the heads of PHCs in Delta central converge in Ughelli while the private HCFs in both Delta south and central had their training in Warri on Wednesday. The training wound-off with PHCs and HCFs in Delta north converging in Asaba on Thursday and Friday respectively.
The exercise, which was held in collaboration with Dans-Hari consultants, was aimed to equip the OICs of PHCs and private HCFs with knowledge on Universal Health Coverage, emergency medical response practices and other necessary information on healthcare and health insurance in Delta state.
Dr S.O.S Nwachukwu, a consultant with Dans-Hari consultants, lectured the participants on the mandate of the DSCHC in achieving universal health coverage, and healthcare provider relationship in terms of quality and scope of service.
The Director of clinical services, DSCHC, Dr. Ebiakofa, spoke on Emergency Medical Response and First Responder Critical Care Management while Mrs. Rita Dumme handled the training on claims managements for the facilities.
The training was rounded-off with lively QnA sessions between the heads of facilities and the training facilitators.
